[18:17:56] <@Fats> === SESSION 30 START ===
[18:17:56] <@Fats> So, you're driving a bunch of runners/gangers/smugglers through the icy streets of Vladivostok to the EVO Islands, where your charge Reaper says you're to free a corp drone from his employer's clutches...
[18:18:09] <@Fats> * and let's start with the info requests you had
[18:18:27] <@Fats> ><Stozu_ElGoblo> Who's our target, his daily routine, plans for his usual places, security measures...
[18:18:27] <@Fats> Someone who Reaper only knows as Petrucco. According to him, a Johnson hired him to pull the corp drone out from a secret EVO installation, while only maintaining connection to the guy
[18:18:27] <@Fats> through infrequent and subtly encrypted anonymous commails. The drone is said to be a mathematician of some esoteric sort. It appears that this tag he's picked up specifically for his
[18:18:27] <@Fats> communications with Johnson, since you cannot find any outstanding mathematicians in his field of study that'd use the name.
[18:18:33] <@Fats> You are unable to find his daily routine, much less the security measures surrounding him, in the open Matrix. After some hardcore data search, you find mentions of so called Winter Garden
[18:18:36] <@Fats> datacenter christened on the Evo Islands, roughly where Reaper appears to think his mark to be. You wouldn't call it the blackest site the megacorp has, but it's reasonably secret: your data
[18:18:39] <@Fats> digging only returns a cybereye recording uploaded to the net with a guy travelling to the site in summer: it's on Reineke island, and takes a trip through a narrow forrest road to get to.
[18:18:42] <@Fats> You don't see any fence on the record, just a guardhouse made of single monolithic piece of bent glass. Once the owner of the cybereyes arrives there, an EVO guard in full gear asks for his
[18:18:47] <@Fats> authorization, and to turn the recording off. You get a feeling learning more about this Winter Garden would take a hack.
[18:18:50] <@Fats> ><Stozu_ElGoblo> Ah, and we need more info on that kitsune and sniper.
[18:18:52] <@Fats> They appear to be runners of roughly your class, of neo-anarchist persuasion, so you can dig up in the Matrix about as much on them as you would on yourself. Of the two, Vasily is the more
[18:18:55] <@Fats> visible, with his "blind sniper" shtick. You gather he comes from Indonesia, and has spent a lot of time with the Huk pirates, seeing action numerous times against Imperial Japan vessels.
[18:19:03] <@Fats> There's less to be found on Allyson, but through miticulous searches and data-sifting you can pin several rapid circumstance changes in the region on shadowruns that you can with low
[18:19:05] <@Fats> probability attribute to her. Curiously, a fair share of these circumstance changes appear to be in favour of Wuxing corporation: apparently, the SURGEd aren't instructed never to deal with
[18:19:08] <@Fats> a dragon?
[18:19:10] <@Fats> ><Stozu_ElGoblo> And while we at it - about troll gang too.
[18:19:12] <@Fats> The troll gangers you met at Wonderland appear to be a small-time outfit from Khasan Coast. They do not have a taken name, instead identified by the 9th August Street they seem to mostly
[18:19:17] <@Fats> come from, even in the MVD (Interior Ministry) data you've been able to find online. You struggle to find anything that'd link them with either Allyson or Vasily Alibabaevich.
[18:19:20] <@Fats> <Stozu_ElGoblo> And about foxy, most interesting thing is her motives, because right now it all looks fishy.
[18:19:23] <@Fats> Do you want to ask her head on?
[18:19:25] <@Fats> <Stozu_ElGoblo> Oh, before I forgot, how was her shooting at the bar?
[18:19:27] <@Fats> You didn't pay much attention to her gun play at the time, but it was obvious enough she's highly professional with her Ceska Black Scorpion.
[18:19:34] <@Fats> <@Heckfy[sleep]> some info about recent movements of foxy and blindman, like about a week or so.
[18:19:38] <@Fats> You can't find their travel documents on any of the open sources. Further digging through airport and haven control data suggest that Vasily Alibabaevich arrived a week ago on Trepetnaya
[18:19:40] <@Fats> Lan, a well-known smuggling fastboat. You get nothing on Allyson, and are unable to trace their movements throughout the sprawl since.
[18:19:43] <@Fats> <@Heckfy[sleep]> also who the fuck the reaper is and who stands to benefit from his death.
[18:19:47] <@Fats> You have the SIN database that issued his SIN, and it's taking a couple hours to hack it.
[18:21:29] <@Fats> * Won, are you going for the host? Anyone with any additional questions?
[18:22:00] <@Nebokhod> * can we track identity of outr johnson or at least affiliation?
[18:23:23] <Won> * I found the server with Reapers ssi info, I can actually do a real hack on it.
[18:24:05] <Won> * I forget if I did any research on the Johnson
[18:25:33] <@Fats> * Nebokhod, sure, that Golden Pheasant place seemed reasonably suspicious to start data mining from that.
[18:27:02] <Won> * I'll do that ssi hack when people are reasonably distracted
[18:27:39] <@Fats> * Won, hacking that host is a Hacking+Expoit Extended Test. The base threshold is 9, since you'd need an admin account to trace your charge, add a +6 to that.
[18:28:45] <@Fats> * the interval is 1 hour if you're probing it in VR
[18:29:31] <Won> * what if I try to make it look like I'm fiddling with by phone
[18:29:45] <@Fats> * oh, and if you're hacking it on the fly, it's a Hacking+Exploit Extended Test with a threshold of 5 (+6 for Admin) with an interval of 1 Complex Action (unless you have a booster, you have three of these per turn in VR)
[18:30:48] <@Fats> * but then you have to tell me your Stealth :3
[18:31:17] <@Fats> * and yeah, you absolutely can make it seem like you're doing something else, especially if it's hacking on the fly which is taking literally seconds
[18:33:03] <@Fats> * (the rules are on page 235 of CoreAE)
[18:36:39] <@Fats> * so? What do you do, runners, what do you do? Reaper seems intent on taking Winter Garden head on.
[18:36:41] <Won> * Ah. Alright so .... sde#(9,15) ?
[18:36:56] <Won> * 9,15#sde *
[18:36:57] <ur_dnd_bot> Won: (pool 9, threshold 15) 6 passes, 15 hits
[18:37:13] <Won> * Oh. Okay. Just go ahead and parse the entire thing you funky robot
[18:37:21] <@Fats> * 9? Is that your Hacking+Exploit+2 for using hot VR
[18:38:10] <Won> * Oh. +2 would be 11.
[18:38:15] <Won> * I somehow don't have Exploit
[18:38:19] <@Fats> * Uh
[18:38:45] <Won> * Like 0 points in it?
[18:42:04] <@Fats> * Well, hacking tests are rolled with pure Skill Rating, without adding the Attribute, and I believe they can't be rolled without the necessary software. And from what I see you have a commlink with System 2, and the software you run cannot have a Rating higher than the commlink's System Rating. Let's handle it this way: I'll make hacking autosucceed for you this session, and through the coming week, read the Wireless World chapter of the Core
[18:42:04] <@Fats> carefully and change your charsheet to match: you likely won't need your Mental attributes as high as you have them, and that'll allow you to buy a better commlink, a set of hacking software, and perhaps some hacking implants.
[18:42:49] <Won> * Urgh. Sorry.
[18:43:04] <@Fats> * Bah, I know Shadowrun is a clunky system that takes a lot of time to learn
[18:44:11] <Che> * And infinitly more time to fix.
[18:44:15] <@Fats> * Your Mental attributes are only used in tests when you're, like, writing hacking tools of your own or something like this, if I remember. Otherwise it's all Skill+Program Rating[+hot VR][+implant modifiers].
[18:44:35] <@Fats> * Che, can_we_fix_it_no_its_fucked.png
[18:44:59] <@Nebokhod> * what is this errata you speak of?
[18:45:27] <@Fats> * being rules-heavy is an inherent problem that no errata can address, I'm afraid. Anyway
[18:47:54] <@Fats> Won, you enter the SIN database node through the front gate, it having succumbed to your bruteforce assault. The inside sculpting is keeping with the theme: you're in an Imperial Chinese archive, scrolls of data stacked neatly on shelves that stretch out into infinity. You believe you can both find the previous SIN data for Reaper and, with a bit of further effort, trace his SINs before that, getting a bit of info about his biography.
[18:48:00] <@Fats> * what is it you do?
[18:50:27] <@Fats> Che, Reaper directs you down the tunnel across the Amur Bay that leads from Khasan Coast to EVO Islands. The road carries your SUV ever deeper under the seabed, ventilation turbines lining the ceiling.
[18:51:18] <Won> I make sure I have a similar looking avatar to the local bots and personell, then get to digging through scrolls to see if I can find who Reaper is. See if he has any old names. I'm worried he might secretly an enemy from any of our pasts, or that we're being setup as patsies for something larger. The latter is far too likely, and I wanna know how we're gonna get fucked over.
[18:51:23] * Che drives his car, painted as one of the telecom service vehicles.
[18:52:18] * @Nebokhod rolls up his right sleeve and applies a patch of Psyche.
[18:57:28] <@Fats> Won, it takes you a dozen seconds to sift through the archive's data at VR breakneck speeds, tracing a chain of fake, reissued and transferred SINs by biometrics and other persistent data fingerprints: it would appear that Reaper is in fact one Senlin Zhangzi, a Chinese national born 2052 to Senlin Zhangzi and Senlin Rizhi. He has traveled throughout the former People's Republic extensively, judging by his SIN data (there are also half a dozen
[18:57:31] <@Fats> foreign-issued SINs from around the world, but the jurisdictions they come from are so unreliable you disregard them as simply attempts to cover the tracks).
[18:58:11] <@Fats> Nebokhod, you can feel your mind clearing as your consciousness kicks into higher gear.
[18:59:53] <Won> Hm.
[19:01:51] <Won> If I haven't aroused any suspicion yet, I'm gonna trace that lineage a bit.
[19:09:50] <@Fats> It would appear your Stealth program conceals your presence from the node's IC reliably. You dig into the archives ones again: Senlin Rizhi is a dead end; she died in 2056 to complications of pneumonia. Now, Senlin Zhangzi is a much more curious character: an early-Awakening elf, he made a stellar career both in late Chinese People's Republic and newly independent Manchuria, eventually coming to rule what was once known as Heilongjiang, a
[19:09:50] <@Fats> North-Eastern province bordering Russia.
[19:10:50] <@Fats> He was
[19:10:50] <@Fats> assassinated in 2060, in what was said to be a syndicate violence-related hit.
[19:11:24] <@Fats> As you turn your attention to Triad activity in the province at the time, you gather it was subdued during his tenure, but obviously gathering momentum; after his death, the 38 Troubles Triad came to all but own the province, building an extensive smuggling network across it.
[19:15:29] <@Fats> * and this is all the info you gain without purposefully digging further
[19:17:42] <Won> * Woof. I think that might be good enough to jack-out on.
[19:24:49] * Che checks feed from internal cameras to see what his passengers are doing.
[19:25:09] * Won is taking a coffee nap, like all good professionals.
[19:27:01] * @Nebokhod is meditating on how good it would feel if he will bash Reaper on the head, repatedly.
[19:27:50] <@Fats> Che, it'd appear that Reaper and Allyson are chatting with each other, Tiny the troll ganger is sitting still, cradling his face in his huge hands, apparently under the effect of the swill he drank at Wonderland, and Vasily Alibabaevich is staring into nothingness impassively.
[19:27:58] <Won> * When Won jacks out, he brings Che and Nebo up to date on his findings.
[19:28:43] <Che> = Hmmm...
[19:29:25] <Won> = To me? Sounds like we might end up cleaning loose ends and our employer is just trying to give us all reasonable doubt
[19:30:08] <@Fats> As he does, the SUV finally leaves the tunnel, driving now through the EVO corporate campus with its multi-coloured glass needles of high-riser offices. After a brief quiet argument between Reaper and Allyson he reaffirms his initial idea of driving yet to Downtown, instead of trying to just assault Winter Garden head on.
[19:34:19] <Che> - So, what's the plan, chief?
[19:36:52] <@Fats> - Hmmmm, I guess we should be so rash. I say we go to Allyson's hideout in Downtown, spend the night until we're all sober, and then go save that poor drone and mete out justice for the corp slavers!
[19:37:50] <@Nebokhod> * there goes my 200 ny under the drain
[19:38:06] <Che> - Will that drone be cooperating or we'll need to persuade him?
[19:38:15] <Won> * Hm?
[19:38:44] <@Nebokhod> * dose of psyche costs 200 ny and lasts 8 hours.
[19:38:54] <@Nebokhod> * for me that is
[19:39:42] <@Fats> - Of course he will be cooperating, what kind of question is that?!
[19:40:24] <Che> - Eh, sometimes people don't know what's good for them.
[19:42:11] <@Fats> - Hmmm, this much is true: for instance, I only took to shadowrunning recently! But I'm sure he can be reasoned with, anyway. Plus, we have a MAGE, right?
[19:42:53] <@Nebokhod> - What, you need a mage to point a gun on a man or something?
[19:43:27] <Che> - How have you got to shadows?
[19:45:12] * Won gets jittery at the thought of staying in this woman's hideout, and missing his nightly cram.
[19:45:41] <Che> * did you just assumed her gender?
[19:46:49] <Won> * I'm pretty sure she clearly stated her gender :|a
[19:46:49] <@Fats> - Pointing a gun into a man's face gets him going, but reluctantly. Putting a spell on him gets him going, willingly! - Reaper explains to Lucas.
[19:46:50] * @Nebokhod calls Madam Daria and orders delivery of enough materials to bind an F5 spirit.
[19:47:35] <@Fats> Nebokhod, she nods eagerly as she sees the nuyen transfer.
[19:49:36] <@Fats> Che, the sam turns to you: - Well, I've always been one for, you know, full contact. Once I managed to escape my dad's suffocating care, what were I to turn to other than running? Shadowrunning, of course!
[19:51:56] <@Nebokhod> - Basketweaving?
[19:52:22] <Che> - Well, don't want to ruin your fantasy, but runners usually tend to avoid full contact - it's sign of sloppy work or things gone terribly wrong. I think, you'll have more fun in combat arenas...
[19:52:23] <@Fats> - Who's ever changed the world for the better with that?
[19:52:57] <Che> - You know, we're here not for some Greater Good.
[19:54:06] <@Nebokhod> * we are the comment section of Better Than Bad review thread now
[19:54:11] <Che> - It's nice to help some little men, but primary goal to earn fat paycheck and survive another day.
[19:55:18] <@Fats> He turns to the rigger: - Bah hambugh, as if I don't know how the runners work. Even if you "go for non-lethal" - he does air quotes with his cut-up cyberhands, - You still shoot bullets, even if gel ones, or deliver bunches, even if not to kill! And sure, every creature's primary goal is to survive, but if you wanted to make a fat check, you'd be shilling for these guys, - he nods at the clustered skyscrapers of the EVO HQ you're driving past.
[19:56:42] <Won> 9#se composure to not laugh my ass off
[19:56:50] <@Nebokhod> - Eh, that'll require us to come in at 9 o'boring every day.
[19:57:05] <Won> 9#sr
[19:57:24] <@Nebokhod> * .9#sd
[19:57:36] <Won> 9#sd
[19:57:37] <ur_dnd_bot> Won: (pool 9) 2 hits
[19:57:59] * Won gulps down a laugh at the thought of a corporation actually paying out.
[19:58:57] <@Fats> Reaper gives him a puzzled look: "What's so funny?"
[19:59:49] <@Fats> Then he turns back to Lucas: - And running has you waking how early? Ever going to sleep at all?
[20:00:08] <Won> * Did Reaper say that or did his look say that?
[20:00:37] <@Fats> * He said it aloud
[20:00:42] <Won> - There was a time I thought the same thing. Corporations do anything to save a nuyen.
[20:01:17] <@Nebokhod> - The difference is that I choose when i wake up, not some fuck in a posh suit.
[20:01:49] <@Fats> - They do, of course, but people are a commodity to them. They buy as cheap as they can, but a mage or another skilled runner they'd buy for some fat dosh, I understand?
[20:03:23] <@Fats> Nebokhod, the sam phases out for a second, then comes to with an ARO floating between you: it's an ad for a Shiawase sleep regulator implant that reads in large Russian calligraphic letters: "Choose when you wake up, YOURSELF"
[20:04:49] <@Nebokhod> - Nah, I have a mechanical alarm clock that my grandma gave me.
[20:06:20] <@Fats> - Well, then, there you go, you're the one who sets it! - the guy looks at you as if he has logically triumphed over the entirety of your argumentation.
[20:06:36] <@Nebokhod> * also, i have disturbing amounts of cash, I'll need to look into Better Living Through Chemistry.
[20:07:09] <@Fats> Che, as you talk, you've driven through the EVO Islands, leaving YNT docks and port facilities to the left side, and are now moving over the bridge across the bay to Downtown
[20:07:21] * @Nebokhod gives the youngster an amused look.
[20:07:35] <Che> - Where to?
[20:07:35] * Won requests his driver to follow out of sight
[20:12:05] <@Fats> Che, Allyson broadcasts an ARO with an address. It's on Krygina street, past the Golden Horn bay.
[20:13:46] <Che> * What I know about that neighborhood?
[20:14:03] <@Fats> * any local knowledge? Runner hideouts, whatnot?
[20:17:38] <Che> * area knowledge and underworld
[20:18:25] <Che> 10#sd underworld (Vladivostok)
[20:18:27] <ur_dnd_bot> Che: (pool 10) 5 hits
[20:18:43] <Che> 9#sd area knowledge (Vladivostok)
[20:18:43] <ur_dnd_bot> Che: (pool 9) 0 hits
[20:18:55] <Che> * hmph
[20:20:11] <@Fats> It's one of the far-off corners of Downtown, and while its geography eludes you at the moment, you remember that there's a bunch of aging real estate there suitable for a runner hideout.
[20:22:29] * Che drives there.
[20:23:34] <@Fats> You cross the Golden Horn and drive through the streets of Downtown, past the old railroad terminal and the port, up and down the sopka hills. Finally, Allyson points her finger at a parking surrounded from three sides by a cracked gray concrete fence: "Okay, stop there, we'll walk the rest of the way."
[20:24:00] <Che> - Are you sure it's safe to leave car here?
[20:24:55] <@Fats> - It'll be safer if you leave a drone to guard it. But, well, this is Downtown.
[20:26:27] * Che sighs.
[20:26:53] * Che parks car and sighs again.
[20:27:34] <Che> - Ok, we're here, everybody out.
[20:28:58] * @Nebokhod exits the vehicle.
[20:29:04] * Won gets out of the car.
[20:29:13] <@Fats> Allyson leads the way, squeezing easily between two concrete blocks that form the fence and navigating through the abandoned factory or loading dock that lies beyond.
[20:29:32] <Won> = I can't believe people live like this.
[20:30:02] * Che locks car and leaves it on high alert.
[20:30:27] <@Nebokhod> * robocop2.avi iirc
[20:30:30] * Won leaves a drone on the dash and directs the videofeed to Che's hone
[20:30:37] <Won> phone*
[20:31:15] <@Fats> A hundred meters in she reaches a solid concrete structure that's sticking out a couple meters from the ground. She touches non-assuming rust-coloured biometric lock next to an equally rusted hatch, and it swings open. She leads you down into the belly of the sopka.
[20:31:25] <@Nebokhod> = They don't. It's a survival.
[20:32:01] <Won> = Horrifying.
[20:32:05] <@Nebokhod> * are the mats delivered already?
[20:34:56] <@Fats> Judging by the posters on the walls, this used to be a part of the Vladivostok Fortress, perhaps a reserve ammo dump or something to the effect. This way or another, your foxy guide leads you down a narrow corridor and into a large shared room with a vaulted concrete ceiling. A dozen beds stand disorderly along the walls, and several medical-green screens on white metal poles lie in a bunch in one corner. "Aaaaand here we are! Set up for the
[20:34:57] <@Fats> night!" - the SURGEd proclaims as she pulls the first screen from the pile to wall off a tiny room for herself. She points her finger to a door at the far end of the room: "The bathroom is there!"
[20:36:33] <@Nebokhod> * is that the only room in the hideout?
[20:36:40] <@Fats> It appears you're spending the night here, planning your approach - as much as Reaper's tactics involve planning at all.
[20:36:48] <Che> - Comfy...
[20:37:28] <@Fats> Nebokhod, yes, from what you see.
[20:38:11] * Won heavily, heavily considers sneaking out and sleeping in his car
[20:38:47] * @Nebokhod checks the bathroom.
[20:39:10] <@Fats> Che, Allyson turns to the entrance corridor: "Not entirely comfy, and the echo is killing me, but at least it's cheap and defensible. Notice the sharp turn we took in the corridor? That's to soak up any explosions from the outside, and the corridor is to herd the attackers into a narrow kill field!"
[20:39:33] <Che> - Is it the only exit?
[20:40:44] * Che looks around for something that can be used as a cover from incoming fire.
[20:41:59] <@Fats> Nebokhod, it's a small concrete room, with what looks like a door further into the mountain walled off with concrete. There's a water tank hanging at the ceiling with a shower head below it; what looks like water reclamation machinery is attached to the drain and lines the wall to the ceiling. A lone toilet bowl sits mounted on the wall across from the shower.
[20:42:42] <@Nebokhod> * is there enough place for enacting a ritual?
[20:43:12] <@Fats> - Yes, it is. And if the worst comes to worst, use the beds, they have old-school metal forming the frame and the bottom.
[20:43:22] <@Fats> * Nebokhod, how much space do you need, exactly?
[20:43:52] <Che> - Well, let's hope it won't be needed...
[20:44:51] <@Nebokhod> * it isn't mentioned, but i assume at least enough space to draw a pentagram and a circle and not risk knock into something.
[20:45:03] * Che claims one of the beds and starts checking his weapons and comlink.
[20:45:32] <@Fats> Nebokhod, well, I guess there should be enough.
[20:46:01] <@Fats> Che, those seem to be in as good a working order as circumstances warrant.
[20:46:01] <Che> * Are there any supplies here? Food/med/ammo? Electricity?
[20:46:32] <@Fats> * Electricity only, from the old-style Soviet outlets.
[20:47:25] <@Nebokhod> - Ok, boys and girls, if you need the bathroom, I suggest that you use it now.
[20:48:28] <@Fats> Reaper and Allyson finish setting up screens around the bed they've chosen; Tiny crashes into the one nearest to the entrance, filling the room with powerful snoring that echoes from the ceiling, and Vasily Alibabaevich sits quietly on his bed, his crutch near and eyes blank.
[20:48:40] <Che> - Let me guess, that drink in the bar was not up your alley?
[20:48:51] <@Fats> None of them seem to be paying any attention to Lucas.
[20:49:02] <@Nebokhod> - After that I'm gonna try to bring a little bit of magic into our dreary lives, maybe even live after that.
[20:49:27] * Che uses bathroom.
[20:49:30] * @Nebokhod looks over blind man in astral
[20:49:41] <@Nebokhod> 8#sd
[20:49:43] <ur_dnd_bot> Nebokhod: (pool 8) critical glitch!
[20:49:50] <Che> - Try not to crash that sopka on our heads, please.
[20:49:58] <Che> * oh well...
[20:50:16] <@Nebokhod> * edge reroll
[20:50:18] <@Fats> * mmmmmmm :D
[20:50:44] * Che covertly lets out his kanmushi microdrone to keep watch.
[20:51:05] <@Nebokhod> * downgrade that is.
[20:52:47] <@Nebokhod> * inb4 alibabayevich is a minelayer in disguise.
[20:53:08] <@Nebokhod> * wereminelayer even
[20:53:32] <@Fats> * no doubt, he's been chasing you across campaigns and continents.
[20:53:35] * Won wanders around to appreciate the architecture and look for cameras.
[20:54:07] <@Fats> * that said, from what I gather, you can simply negate the critical glitch: >You may negate the effects of one glitch or critical glitch.
[20:55:15] <@Nebokhod> * yeah, the book says i can downgrade critical glitch to ordinary one
[20:55:40] <@Fats> Won, there's not much architecture to speak of: the two benefits of the building, except for its obvious defensiveness, is it's reasonably dry and it's reasonably warm.
[20:55:53] <@Fats> * also, roll a Perception: Visual test
[20:56:06] <@Nebokhod> * everyone or just Won?
[20:56:23] <@Fats> * just Won
[20:56:49] <Won> 4#sd
[20:56:49] <ur_dnd_bot> Won: (pool 4) 1 hit
[20:58:33] <@Fats> Nebokhod, in the astral gloom of this place, the adept's aura is surprisingly muted. It's hard for you to read it: perhaps he's Initiated, and masking his aura? That'd mean he's a much more powerful Awakened than you previously thought...
[20:58:45] <@Nebokhod> * anyway, i downgrade the glitch and fuck off to bathroom
[20:58:51] <@Fats> Won, you see no sensors in the room.
[21:00:06] <Won> Time to go lay down in a crappy cot and experience a withdrawal headache until the cram gets delivered. If theres coffee, a socially unacceptable amount is being drank in the process.
[21:01:16] <@Fats> There is no coffee, unless you've brought some with you, or have it in your car, or something.
[21:01:57] <Che> * how that fox survives here with out any necessities?
[21:02:09] <Won> * She's holding out on us
[21:04:08] * Che just in case sends note to Mikhalych with description of current situation and coordinates.
[21:04:43] <@Fats> * Che, well maybe she's an early riser. You know, the kind of people who wake up in good mood and don't need ten cups of coffee to look like a human bean
[21:04:51] <Won> = I'm sleeping in my car when it gets here. Ping me when people start waking up.
[21:04:59] * @Nebokhod starts the ritual
[21:05:12] <@Fats> Mikhalych returns a brief "Acknowledged".
[21:05:19] <Won> * Foxes cheat at life.
[21:05:43] <@Nebokhod> 12#sd binding
[21:05:45] <ur_dnd_bot> Nebokhod: (pool 12) 6 hits
[21:05:45] <Che> * Even early risers need stuff like first aid kit, some drinkable water, and a few snacks.
[21:06:09] <@Nebokhod> 6#sd edge reroll
[21:06:10] <ur_dnd_bot> Nebokhod: (pool 6) 2 hits
[21:06:33] <@Nebokhod> 10#sd spirit roll
[21:06:33] <ur_dnd_bot> Nebokhod: (pool 10) 3 hits
[21:06:55] <@Nebokhod> 13#sd drain
[21:06:55] <ur_dnd_bot> Nebokhod: (pool 13) 5 hits
[21:07:12] <@Fats> * what kind of spirit is it?
[21:07:21] * Che lies on his bed trying to hear what the drek is going on in the bathroom.
[21:07:29] <@Fats> Che, all of the above fits into a chameleon suit's pockets!
[21:08:06] <Che> * well I can commend her skill in travelling light.
[21:08:15] <@Nebokhod> * spirit of man, looks kinda like slightly overweight Kabosu.
[21:09:36] <@Nebokhod> * hm, it seems, that i get 4 services and 1S damage.
[21:10:54] <@Nebokhod> * innate spell (increase reflexes)
[21:11:20] <Won> * Uh oh.
[21:11:26] <@Fats> * Lucas the scholar of half a century old memes.
[21:11:40] <Won> * He's gonna be rude to me :(
[21:13:24] <@Fats> The doge materializes before you, Nebokhod. It's about chest-high for you, when standing on all fours, and glowing gently yellow. It gives you an expectant look, tilting its head to one side, obviously expecting your commands.
[21:13:52] <@Nebokhod> * and the question is if the 3 hours of sleep is enough to heal 1s of damage.
[21:14:20] * @Nebokhod tells the spirit that it can rest for now
[21:16:10] <@Fats> It obediently vanishes, returning to Astral for now.
[21:16:15] * @Nebokhod staggers out of bathroom and crashes on the closest bed.
[21:16:43] <Che> - I guess we can congratulate you on being still alive?
[21:17:07] <@Nebokhod> - We'll see in the morning.
[21:17:14] <@Nebokhod> * and he's out like a light
[21:18:17] <@Fats> * Nebokhod, Body + Willpower for each hour that you rest
[21:18:24] * Won eventually sneaks out with the grace of a drunk frat boy
[21:18:52] <@Nebokhod> 9#sd
[21:18:53] <ur_dnd_bot> Nebokhod: (pool 9) 3 hits
[21:19:18] <@Nebokhod> * apparently it's enough
[21:19:29] <@Fats> Won, no one seems particularly alarmed by you leaving: you've warned Nebokhod and Che, Tiny is right out, Allyson and Reaper don't care, and Vasily Alibabaevich gives you a blank stare as you leave, but doesn't move from his cot.
[21:19:41] <@Fats> * Nebokhod more than enough, yes
[21:21:24] <@Fats> Won, you reach the hatch. Unlike the biometric-coded entrance lock, exiting the hideout takes a single button press, rubber-covered red button sitting openly on the concrete wall.
[21:22:29] <Won> just a curiousity. Windows?
[21:23:03] <Won> Gonna just exit out the front
[21:23:31] <@Fats> * Nope. There used to be a periscope at the end of the stairs, but it's broken now. You realize that without Allyson you've no way to return, unless someone helps you from the inside, right?
[21:24:55] <Won> * Hm. Good point. Gonna just head back to bed in that case.
[21:25:58] <Won> = Nevermind. Don't want to complicate the morning.
[21:26:21] <@Fats> The bed is far from the heights of opulence, but during your binge after the contract termination, you've seen far worse.
[21:26:29] * Che is slowly drifting towards sleep remembering his days in yakut's capture.
[21:28:11] <@Fats> * So, you have your leads on Allyson, Reaper, and Winter Garden (or rather, its host location at least). You have the night and maybe a couple of hours in the morning before Reaper calls for decisive action. We can save for now, and you can decide on the approach you take?
[21:28:26] <@Fats> * Che, you've never told us - what was it like?
[21:29:28] <Che> * it was not so glorious end to Che's promising military career.
[21:30:13] <@Fats> * how did he end up in captivity?
[21:33:21] <Che> * was brought down by some majiks while on his way to LZ for spetsnaz team extraction behind enemy lines.
[21:33:40] <@Fats> * and how did he get out?
[21:33:49] * Won passes out and prepares himself for a uppers withdrawal migraine
[21:34:04] <@Fats> * does this affect his opinion on mages?
[21:34:12] <Che> * exchanged a few years later.
[21:34:30] <@Fats> * so he spent years in captivity? Hard labour?
[21:35:00] <Che> * it's kind of hard to do hard labour with broken spine.
[21:35:38] <Won> * Saving for now doesn't sound like a bad idea
[21:35:48] <Che> * so he mostly just was here while some kind shaman(ess) cared for his back.
[21:35:58] <@Fats> * Che, not in military custody it isn't :3
[21:36:16] <@Fats> === SESSION 30 END ===
[21:36:23] <Won> * Tanarath suggested some changes I should make to this character to better fit my playstyle and the concept.
[21:36:38] <@Fats> Alright then, two karma, everyone, blast me with feedback and please upload the logs
