The Noble House of Foes is a peculiar entity in Scintillian political landscape and Calixis sector at large. Centuries ago, Foes had the ear of the Sector Governor, hosted extravagant and wildly popular jamborees, and oversaw vast properties both on-planet and far beyond. That golden age is long past and after seemingly endless cavalcade of misfortune, what remains of the House continues at best a decorative existence, afforded to it by legitimate good will, the air of ″old nobility″ and, perhaps, the penchant of high society to keep trophies. Their, now thoroughly modest, estate is diligently maintained by servants indentured to other noble families, a museum of faded, but dignified, glory. In fact it is considered both prestigious and polite among many of Scintillian Houses, minor and major, to maintain at least some degree of charitable disposition towards Foes’ holdings and descendants. After all, counting one of their line amidst your friends and followers is being associated with the Old Houses of Scintilla, yet without the risk of being dragged into their intrigues and grudges, as is usually the case.

The lone scion of the House in this generation is one Fomalhaut Achernar Foe, a man precariously approaching his hundredth year, but living his life as if not a day had passed since his twentieth. Far from being discontent with unenviable fate of his noble line, he instead, apparently, embraced the mode of conduct it implied, making fast friends with most, if not all, offspring of Scintillian noble Houses and many more beyond, appearing readily for any sort of function that would have him and inevitably finding himself embroiled in various adventures and varied misbehaviour that blue blood calls for. His later years, however, would see him turning towards somewhat more academic pursuits and extensive travel – it was decades since he last visited Hive Sibellus. Now fashioning himself an explorer and ″gentleman adventurer″, his reputation for endearing eccentricity and gregariousness would only grow, earning him yet more invitations and guesting from ″actual″ nobility. As is only fitting for a Foe, if you ask him.
